Mr. Keith Obeyesekera is a seasoned Management Consultant and Financial Advisor with a diverse and accomplished background. He began his career at sea, joining his first vessel as a Deck Cadet at the age of 18. Over the course of 24 years, he rose through the ranks to become a Ship’s Captain, commanding various types of vessels, including very large oil tankers and container ships. After leaving the sea in 2002, Keith took on a leadership role with a German shipowner, eventually becoming the CEO of the organization. In this position, he managed a fleet of 67 ocean-going vessels and oversaw an international staff of approximately 3,000 people across offices in Germany, the Netherlands, Singapore, and Cyprus. Having retired at the end of 2020, Mr. Obeysekera established his own consultancy company in Nevada, where he offers management and financial services. His extensive experience is complemented by a Master’s degree in Shipping and Navigation, as well as a Maritime Law degree, both earned in the U.K.
Throughout his career,Mr. Obeyesekera has been actively involved in industry organizations, including serving as a member of the Cyprus Shipping Chamber for 10 years and as the Chairman of Tankers International, the largest oil tanker organization, for seven years. He has also participated in various international committees dedicated to advancing the shipping industry. Passionate about helping others achieve their business and financial goals,Mr. Obeyesekera also volunteers as a CASA advocate, working with underprivileged children. He is committed to driving innovative marketing strategies that contribute to sustainable business growth.
